Hyundai relaunched the Santro in the country after a long gap four years since the Santro Xing was discontinued. The car has not only grown up in size but also features a number of changes which leaves everyone to think if it is better than before. If you in the market to buy the new 2020 Hyundai Santro BS6, check out our detailed first look review to make an informed choice.
Exteriors Looks and Design
The overall design language of the new Santro is completely different from the outgoing model and is based on the brand's latest design philosophy. The large grille upfront may have polarising looks but overall, the swept-back headlamps and the sharp bumper design make it look quite attractive from the front. The side profile on the other hand looks simple and the rear too follows the same subtle look.

Interiors
The 2020 Hyundai Santro BS6 comes with a spacious cabin and a tall-boy design which helps it offer great headroom and high seating position. The seats at the front are comfortable and supportive while the rear bench could have offered better under-thigh support. The quality of the plastics and the fit and finish levels of the car are one of the best in the segment. The dashboard layout is simple and looks upmarket when compared to the rivals.
Engine, Gearbox, and Performance
Powering the 2020 Hyundai Santro BS6 is a 1.1-L Epsilson MPI petrol engine that churns out 69 ps and 99 Nm of peak torque output. This engine comes mated to a 5-Speed MT and an optional 5-Speed AMT. The same engine is also available with a CNG kit and when running on CNG, the same engine outs out 60 PS and 85 Nm of peak torque. Overall, this 1.1-L motor is smooth and has supreme NVH levels but when compared to its rivals, it feels a little dull in terms of overall performance and fuel economy factor. Rated figure stands at 20.3 kmpl.
