The new Hyundai i20 gets the same engine options like its cousin Hyundai Venue. Both these cars get a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out 83 PS of power (88 PS of power with i20's IVT) and 115 Nm of torque. Both of them get a 5-speed manual gearbox but the new i20 gets an IVT (CVT) too. Then, we have a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This turbocharged petrol motor churns out 120 PS of power and 171 Nm of torque. Both the Venue and the i20 get a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) and a 6-speed iMT (intelligent manual transmission). But, the Venue is a step ahead and gets a true 6-speed manual gearbox too.

Finally, we have Hyundai Motor Company's tried and tested BS6-compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine. The new i20 is the only second car after Tata Altroz in this segment to get a diesel engine in BS6 era. Both the Venue and the i20 get the same BS6-compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out 100 PS of maximum power and 240 Nm of peak torque. This oil-burner comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only and there is no diesel-automatic combo.

Hyundai is known to kit their cars with all the features they can and so the new i20 as well as the Venue are loaded with features up to the gills. The Venue gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system while the new i20 gets a big 10.25-inch touchscreen unit. Both of them are compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Hyundai's BlueLink connectivity. The new i20 gets premium Bose speakers while the Venue gets an Arkamys sound system, paddle-shifters, etc. The common features in these cars include an electric sunroof, push-button start/stop, wireless charger, smart air purifier and many more.
