Just yesterday we shared that the next-gen Hyundai Verna will be getting BlueLink technology and just today, the South Korean carmaker has opened bookings for the 2020 Verna. The bookings for the same starts at Rs 25,000 and can be booked at any dealership across the country.
Apart from the bookings of the 2020 Hyundai Verna, the carmaker has shared fresh images of the facelifted model. And needless to say, the design has gone premium than before. Of course a lot more bling too with the chrome detailing.
Upfront you notice the signature cascading grille which has grown larger in size and fresh new bumper design. To make the car look sportier, the bumper gets faux brushed aluminium insert. And the rear too gets a diffuser. The side profile gets new diamond-cut alloy wheels and like the Creta, we can expect different alloy wheel design for various trims.

Under the hood, there are three engine options available for the facelifted Verna. The 1.5L petrol and diesel BS6 compliant unit which is borrowed from the Seltos. They are also seen with the 2020 Hyundai Creta. They come with 6-speed manual transmission as standard and the petrol comes with IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) and the diesel gets a 6-speed automatic unit.
In addition to the naturally aspirated petrol, Hyundai Verna will also carry a turbo petrol unit under its hood. It will utilize the same unit as present in the Hyundai Venue and the turbo trims of Grand i10 Nios and Aura. This engine comes mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox and it is unknown if it'll churn out the same 120 bhp like the Venue or 100 bhp which is found in the turbo trims of Nios and Aura.
Hyundai Verna is also the first connected sedan to feature BlueLink Technology in its segment. This advanced car technology covers 45 features like remote starting/stopping the engine, climate control, navigation guidance and among others.

As far as the prices are concerned for the facelifted model, they are expected to see a hike over the current one. The pre-lift model is priced at Rs 8.19 lakh to Rs 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched (we expect it to happen later in March) then it will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and Toyota Yaris.
