Isuzu finally brought in the new entrant to the D-Max family, the 2021 Hi-Lander available to the private buyers. It is a premium version of the S-Cab that gets a powerful diesel engine and a 4x2-set-up. We have now gotten the pictures of the 2021 Isuzu D-Max Hi-Lander and let's explain to you what it gets.
The front profile does not give that aggressive look the V-Cross offers but rather a humble one. The one of the entrant workhorse that will try to fit into your personal and professional needs. And that is why maybe Isuzu brought in this with a 4x2 set-up. More on that later.

The styling has been kept pretty basic like steel wheels with caps, black ORVMs on the sides and the lack of chrome on the front. Priced at Rs 16.98 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, it might seem a little bit on the expensive side because it lacks some of the convenience features. Yes, let's take you to the cabin now.
Step inside the Hi-Lander and you are welcomed by an all-black cabin layout. The fabric upholstery is fine and you do get a manual air conditioning system with a four-speaker music system. Mind you, at this price, you do not even get a touchscreen system. We really don't know what Isuzu was thinking.
The good thing is the new digital multi-information display between those analogue dials. You get a lot of information through that. Furthermore, front and rear power windows, split rear seats with a 60:40 ratio, multiple storage places can be found. You also get a 6-way adjustable driver's seat that is not at all powered. Isuzu has really gone tough offering just barebone features at a staggering price. What confidence I must say.

Safety features on this one continue with ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder, ISOFIX mount child seats, dual front airbags and others.
Under the hood, the 2021 Isuzu D-Max Hi-Lander comes with a 1.9-litre, turbocharged diesel engine. This unit produces 161 bhp with 360 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and we wonder if only a 4x4 set-up was available on this, the sales would have been skyrocketed.
