Morris Garages entered the Indian market with the launch of the all-new MG Hector mid-size SUV in June 2019 and it was an instant hit. Following the Hector, MG launched the ZS EV, Hector Plus and the company's top of the line flagship SUV - MG Gloster in India. The carmaker is now planning to launch the seven-seater MG Hector Plus in the country next month along with the MG Hector Facelift. But, what's further interesting is that as per the latest media reports, the 2021 MG Hector Plus six-seater SUV will be getting a new top of the line variant with 4x4 system, ADAS and more. So, here we have for you all the details about it.
According to the latest media reports, in just a few months from now, the 2021 MG Hector Plus BS6 will be getting a new top of the line variant which will be called Savvy. This upcoming top-spec Savvy variant of the SUV will not just add one, but two great features in the MG Hector Plus. The first one will be the addition of a 4x4 drive system and this will enhance its off-road capabilities to a great extent. The second one will be the inclusion of the all-new ADAS features which the company introduced in the recently launched MG Gloster full-size SUV too. Now, this ADAS tech is a relatively new feature in the Indian car market, especially in the mass-market SUV segment.

Talking about details, so this ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and it will provide level-1 autonomous driving capabilities to the SUV with features like automatic park assist, adaptive cruise control, etc. These will be segment-first features as MG will most likely launch the new Hector Plus Savvy variant with 4x4 and ADAS just before the launch of its arch-rival, the new-generation Mahindra XUV500. The upcoming new-gen Mahindra XUV500 will also get these features and it is expected to hit the Indian showrooms by the month of April 2021. The upcoming Hector Plus Savvy variant won't get any mechanical changes and it will continue to be powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 170 PS of power at 3750 RPM and 350 Nm of peak torque between 1750-2500 RPM. This engine comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox only.
