2021 Toyota Innova Crysta Facelift Officially Revealed - India Launch Soon?

Toyota Innova Crysta is one of the most popular MPVs in the Indian market. One of the main reasons for the immense popularity of this MPV is that the Innova is built like a tank. Also, it is one of the most reliable cars (or rather MPVs) on the planet and it lasts for a lifetime. The Toyota Innova was first launched in India in the year 2005 and the second-generation model was introduced in 2016. Now, the Japanese carmaker has officially revealed the new 2021 Toyota Innova Crysta Facelift in Indonesia and it will make its India debut next year. So, let's have a closer look at it.

2021 Toyota Innova Crysta Facelift India launch date and price

As already mentioned before, the second-generation Innova was launched in India in the year 2016 and it was named as Innova Crysta. In around four years, the Innova Crysta didn't receive any major update, save for the BS6 treatment which it had to undergo earlier this year, thanks to the new BS6 emission norms. Now, Toyota has given the Innova Crysta a mid-life update and introduced the new Innova Crysta Facelift. The new facelifted Innova Crysta gets plenty of cosmetic changes and some new features have also been added. However, there are no mechanical changes or upgrades.

Starting with the looks, one can see that the new Innova Crysta Facelift gets a new front fascia. The old dual chrome-slatted front grille has now been replaced by a hexagonal blacked-out grille which gets five horizontal slats. Also, the new grille is flanked by chrome inserts on either side and then we have the slightly re-designed headlamps with projector set-up and chrome surrounds and now it gets LED DRLs too. The facelifted model also gets a newly designed bumper, the foglamp housing has also been changed and the lower half of the body even gets faux skid plates. The new Innova Crysta Facelift gets a lot of black accents to make it look more purposeful.

Now, moving to the side profile of the MPV, one can see that the side profile of the Innova Crysta is almost completely identical to the pre-lift model, save for the new alloy wheels. The new Innova Crysta Facelift gets newly-designed 16-inch diamond-cut dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear profile also doesn't get any major changes. However, it gets a new thick black-coloured trim that connects the taillamps and a hexagonal section for the housing of the number plate. Now, coming to the inside, the new Innova Crysta gets an all-black theme and the layout of the dashboard is the same as before.

What it does get new is a big 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Also, the instrument cluster has been revised and it is still available both as a seven-seater MPV as well as an eight-seater one. Talking about features, it gets up to seven airbags, cruise control, air purifier, ambient lighting, leatherette seat covers, etc. The India-spec new Innova Crysta Facelift might get even some more features including a 360-degree parking camera, etc. As we have already mentioned before, it does not get any mechanical changes. It will be powered by BS6-compliant 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.4-litre diesel engine.

Both of them will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
