A person doing the walkaround of the test mule of XUV500 has uploaded the video on a channel that goes by the name of Mohini Sharma on YouTube. The video shows a quick walkaround of nearly 50 seconds in which some key details about the interior emerge.
For starters, the new 2021 XUV500 is slated to come with a completely redesigned front console. There is a set of twin digital display screens of which one will be used for controlling the infotainment whereas the other will provide information to the driver. The video also shows the 2nd row and the boot space when the 3rd row is down. As is the case with most 3 row SUVs, space in the 2nd row is ample. Even the boot space is fairly large when the third row is folded down. The video also shows the interiors dressed up in white leather upholstery. However, it remains to be seen if this upholstery makes it to the production model. The test mule also had a panoramic sunroof as well which is most likely going to make it to the production version.
The 2021 XUV500 is expected to be powered by a set of two BS6-compliant engine choices: a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill that generates 187hp/380Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel motor that makes 185hp/400 Nm. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed Torque Converter Automatic sourced from Aisin.
Prices of the upcoming XUV500 are expected to be significantly higher than the outgoing model as the new one will pack a punch when it comes to features offered. Some form of advanced driver assistance is also going to be offered on the new-gen XUV500. Upon launch, the XUV500 is expected to go up against the upcoming Tata Gravitas, MG Hector Plus and the 7 seater Jeep Compass.
