With the rising competition from Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata also decided to play with the variants of its entry-level hatchback, Tiago. This time they have rejigged the most popular trim, XT, and have added a few details. In addition to this, the carmaker has also launched the XT variant with the Tiago NRG. We will be sharing details about both cars in this article!
Sharing the updates to the 2022 XT variant then it now gains 14-inch hyperstyle wheels and blacked-out treatment on the B-Pillar. In addition to this, the carmaker has also added a Midnight Plum colour scheme that was earlier available on top-end trims only.
The XT variant now also gets a height-adjustable driver seat, vanity mirror on the co-driver sun shade and rear parcel tray. These are all standard features that will be seen in the new XT variant. Tata has also introduced Rhythm Pack too with this variant of the Tiago. Earlier, it was available in the Altroz only.
The Rhythm Pack constitutes a touchscreen infotainment system, four tweeters and a rear parking camera. The XT variant comes with four speakers as standard. Do note that this pack is offered as an option. The dealership can give you the correct price for this pack.
Tata has also brought a new variant to the Tiago NRG line-up too. Earlier, this crossover hatchback was based on the top-of-the-line trim, XZ+ only but with the increased demand, the carmaker has introduced XT trim. It costs more than Tiago XT but gets more features.
Over the Tiago XT, the Tiago NRG XT gets body cladding, an infinity black roof with roof rails, charcoal black interior, front fog lights, rear defogger, rear wiper and washer. Rest, all features remain the same. Tiago NRG also gets an additional 10mm of ground clearance. You can ask your nearest dealership if the Rhythm pack is available with this variant too.
Under the hood, both cars get the same 1.2L petrol motor. This engine belts out 85 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 113 Nm. It gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard and a 5-speed AMT as an option. The ARAI certified fuel economy sticks to 20 kmpl.
