- Bajaj may soon launch an ADV named Darkstar in India
- It is expected to make debut in 2023 Auto Expo
- Expected to get a 250cc engine and similar hardware as the Pulsar 250 twins
It looks that Bajaj wants to go into the market for adventure motorcycles. A new trademark name 'Darkstar' has been registered by Bajaj. The patent image of the same has been leaked online. Although the new bike's specifics are still a mystery, rumours claim that the manufacturer is developing an ADV, and that this might be the bike. This new model has already passed the formality and inspection during registration.
Upcoming Bajaj Darkstar Motorcycle
Bajaj does not currently provide any soft roader adventure motorcycles. With the introduction of the Darkstar, the company will be able to establish itself in a market where well-known rivals like the KTM Adventure series, Suzuki V-Strom SX 250, Hero Xpulse 200, Honda CB 200X, and Royal Enfield Himalayan are already available.
When it comes to the engine and other characteristics, Bajaj may provide the tried-and-true 250cc engine found in the Pulsar N250 & F250. This engine on the Pulsar twins generate 24 bhp of power and 21.5 Nm of torque. The engine's specifications are currently unknown, but the brand may also equip a new engine to the ADV. As with the Pulsar 250 twins, the components and chassis are anticipated to be similar and built on a tubular steel frame.
If Bajaj is planning to introduce the ADV for the Indian market, it would undoubtedly be a tech-heavy and potent soft roader adventure bike. Bajaj is known for providing powerful, tech-laden motorcycles to the market. Also, one of the best value for money bikes comes from Bajaj. Bajaj may also export the Darkstar ADV to further international markets from India. The company has been quiet about the next ADV bike. We anticipate seeing it at the Auto Expo 2023, which is slated to take place in January 2023.
Verdict: Bajaj's upcoming ADV will be a tough competitor for other ADV's available for a budget in India. We wait patiently until further information is made available.
