- The 2023 Honda Amaze is now BS6 Phase 2 complaint.
- Gets minor cosmetic changes and a price hike of around Rs. 30,000.
- Here is a walkaround video of the base E trim of the sub-4 meter.
Honda Cars India is one such manufacturer that will loose a considerable share of its vehicle line-up as a result of the upcoming BS6 phase 2 emission norms. The low-selling models like Jazz, WR-V and 4th-gen City will not see the light of day from April 2023. Along with this, the Japanese carmaker will altogether skip the diesel engine and will offer only petrol models. So this means that the Amaze and the City, that too with a petrol powertrain, will be pulling Honda's bandwagon in India. Ahead of the upcoming norms, Honda has diligently updated the Amaze sedan and it is now BS6 Phase 2 ready, along with bringing in a few cosmetic changes. Here is a walkaround of the latest 2023 Honda Amaze. The YouTube video was uploaded by 'sansCARi sumit'.
2023 Honda Amaze Walkaround: What's New?
As mentioned earlier, the cosmetic updates are quite minimalistic and the sedan remains largely the same. For reference, the vehicle in this video is the base E model which comes at a price tag of Rs. 6.93 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about the changes, the chrome front grille is now being offered as standard across the line-up. Being the base trim, it misses out on fog lamps, however, chrome surrounds have now been added to the sedan's front profile. The side profile gets black ORVMs along with 14-inch steel wheels shod with 175-section tyres.
Towards the rear, the affair remains pretty much identical, however, a chrome strip has been added to the lower part of the bumper. Apart from these changes, everything else remains more or less the same as before. Inside the cabin, the layout is also the same, and the base trims come with features such as all four power windows, manual IRVM, manual AC, fixed headrests, both at the front as well as rear and more.
2023 Honda Amaze: Powertrain
Under the hood, the 2023 Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine putting out 90 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to the option of a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. Claimed fuel efficiency figures stand at 18.6 km/l (MT) and 18.3 km/l (CVT).
Verdict: Honda has been quite quick in updating its line-up in order to comply with the oncoming BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. The Amaze sedan has been a consistent seller for the brand in the past few years and this update proves that Honda is counting on the sedan and will be an important part of its portfolio. Along with this, the Japanese carmaker will also launch a new mid-size SUV for the Indian market that will most likely go on sale in summer 2023.
