The mid-life facelift of the fifth-generation Honda City is being prepared for release by Honda Cars India. In 2020, the company introduced the fifth-generation Honda City, and in 2022, the hybrid version of the sedan. The brand is getting ready to release another facelift in 2023, three years following the launch of the fifth-generation sedan. The 2023 Honda City facelift will reportedly be unveiled in March. Minor cosmetic modifications are anticipated to be included in the upcoming facelift. Additionally, the sources indicate that the company will release new variants for the hybrid model.

2023 Honda City Facelift
In the past, Honda modified the City with new bumper designs, rear tail lamps, and other exterior modifications. Similar adjustments are anticipated to be made to the City facelift. Redesigned front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, and other aesthetic modifications will all be included in the upcoming facelift. The brand may also change up its feature selection, and new features like ventilated seats, wireless charging, and other convenience features are anticipated. In terms of safety, Honda may include Level 1 ADAS technologies in the ICE variant, comparable to what is seen in the Hybrid variant.

If the rumours are to be believed, the manufacturer will launch new variants for the Honda City Hybrid. Currently, the top-of-the-line ZX model is the only one with a hybrid powertrain. A 1.5-liter petrol engine with the Atkinson Cycle and an electric motor power the Honda City Hybrid. The engine has an output of 126 bhp and is mated to an e-CVT transmission.

Due to the upcoming RDE regulations, Honda is about to stop selling the Honda City's diesel engine from April 2023. The petrol engine will remain the same 1.5-liter NA model that produces 121 bhp of output and 145 Nm of maximum torque. A 6-speed manual and a CVT transmission are included with the engine.
Verdict: Honda City is one of the most premium-looking mid-size sedans available in the Indian market. The sedan will get a facelift soon, making it more feature-rich and modern. Additionally, Honda is preparing to introduce a brand-new SUV in India. The brand has not yet confirmed which one of the upcoming SUVs will be the updated WR-V SUV or the HR-V.
