2023 Honda City Facelift - Details
The test mules of the facelifted car have been spied on in India quite a few times. However, it was anticipated that Honda is preparing for the RDE norms update. Now, with the launch date being disclosed; the new car is just around the corner. As we expect, Honda will redesign the front and rear of the City exteriors. This is to give it a refreshing appeal. Additionally, the interiors will also get mild updates. Maybe, new upholstery and new colour contrast.
Speaking of the major update; it'll be the RDE-compliant engine. However, the diesel engine will be ditched. This is due to the high costs associated with it transforming to RDE compliance. Meanwhile, the 1.5-lt NA petrol engine is expected to get ADAS feature as well on the top specs. The current City Hybrid gets ADAS but not the non-hybrid variants. With that said, Honda shall also update some new features in the City. This is to make the sedan more tech-savvy and to compete with the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna.
Verdict
As the RDE compliance dead end nears, most manufacturers have started updating their products. One such rival, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, has also been updated recently with new safety features. Additionally, the new Verna is also expected to bring safer tech. Hence, the updated City will make more sense. We're expecting that Honda will increase its price due to the new tech & features.
