Hyundai Motor India Limited recently launched the Grand i10 Nios Facelift in India at a starting price of Rs. 5.68 lakh (ex-showroom). While the range goes all the way up to Rs. 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom), the hatchback is available in a total of 4 variants, spread across multiple powertrain options. The hatchback has undergone a slew of changes, both in terms of design as well as equipment on offer. With this, even the base Era trim now comes with 4 airbags and a host of other basic features. 2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift: Era Base Trim Exterior Design Package
Offered at an attractive price tag, the base Era trim gets a toned down front fascia with an all-black front grille occupying the major portion, flanked by a pair of regular halogen headlamps. Lower down, it skips off the boomerang-style LED DRLs, however, retains the prominent air curtains. Moving towards the sides, the affordable trim gets 14-inch steel wheels, shod with 155 section tyres, fender-mounted turn indicators, ORVMs as well as door handles finished in black colour and misses out on roof rails.
The basic appeal is continued to the rear and the hatchback comes with the same set of LED tail lamps as the top trims, however rear wiper, washer and defogger have been given a miss. Rest all the design elements of the rear profile remain the same.
2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift: Era Base Trim Interiors and Features
Moving inside the cabin, the vehicle sports dual tone interior theme, however, looks quite basic, courtesy of the missing steering mounted controls, a smaller MID, no infotainment system and no special touch for the air-con vents. In terms of features, the base trim comes kitted with manually adjustable ORVMs, manual AC, front 2 power windows, 4 airbags, a front room lamp and keyless entry.
In terms of powertrain, the base trim only comes with the option of a 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The power output from the motor is rated at 83 bhp and 113.8 Nm of peak torque.
Verdict: At Rs. 5.68 lakh (ex-showroom), the base Era trim of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift is quite a value for money and can make a great option for budget buyers. The major missing elements such as the infotainment unit, and rear power window can be opted as an accessory and the being the bare bone version opens up the opportunity for further customization.
