2023 Hyundai Verna Facelift Details
Published by an international website, the new spy shots have revealed the new Verna completely. It is known as Accent in the global markets and Hyundai has updated it internationally as well. The design is now radically changed as the car gets 'Sensuous Sportiness' language. The front design gets a big single LED bar along with bumper-embedded LED headlights. Meanwhile, the piano-black front grille is sharp and big in size. The facelifted model will also get ADAS level 2 features as anticipated.
Similarly, the side profile is also stretched. Additionally, the length of the sedan has also increased with a more visible wheelbase. This will probably generate more rear seat space; something that has not been a forte of Verna until now. Meanwhile, the alloy wheels are also diamond cut and resemble the Tucson alloy wheels somehow. At the rear, a slanting roof design makes it look like a coupe sort of. The new Verna looks more like an Elantra going by its dimensions. Moreover, the boot lid gets a huge LED stoplight bar with sharp L-shaped LED taillights. The taillights have been embedded neatly around the boot.
Engine Options & Features
Hyundai has revealed that it'll not launch the new Verna with a diesel engine. So, the diesel is now gone forever. What it'll get is a 1.5 NA petrol that is also available on the current model. Additionally, a new 1.5-lt turbo-petrol will also make its way on it. This engine is later expected to power the upcoming 2023 Creta as well. Hyundai will also offer a mix of transmission options. These will include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, & a 7-speed DCT automatic.
Meanwhile, the features list on the new Verna will be long. It is expected to get ADAS level 2, lane assist camera, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, etc. Additionally, a huge panoramic sunroof, bigger infotainment system with a new digital cockpit will make their way. Hyundai is also expected to revise the safety features, hence, 6-airbags might become standard on it.
Verdict
The new Verna will launch on 21 March in India. It'll remain largely the same as the car seen in the above spy shots. However, Hyundai might surprise the market with some segment-first features. Additionally, its rivals are also going to get updated soon. The 2023 Honda City is due for a launch in India. Hence, the competition for the Verna facelift is already waiting. We're expecting a price hike of up to Rs 1 lakh as compared to the current model.
