On March 21, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) will officially introduce the next generation 2023 Verna. A few days ago, the company teased the upcoming Verna by teasing the front and rear designs. The brand has now made available design sketches for the 2023 Verna, which show the upcoming sedan's front and side profiles. The new design language used by the 2023 Hyundai Verna is similar to that used by the new generation Hyundai sedans offered on the international market.

2023 Hyundai Verna Design Sketches
The upcoming Verna will incorporate the company's 'Sensuous Sportiness' Global Design Identity. This gives the new Verna a more cutting-edge appearance. The sedan's front end receives an updated headlight and bumper unit as well as a parametric grille with a more aggressive posture. A long LED light bar is present above the front grille, and the bonnet has four distinct lines. The sedan's headlamps and air dams have undergone a comprehensive overhaul.
Going to the sides, the sketch shows that the car is longer than its current iteration and has a wider wheelbase. From the A pillar to the C pillar, the sedan's side develops noticeable body lines and creases. The sedan's flanks are lit by the rear LED light. The design of the alloy wheels has also been modified to maintain the modern and futuristic appearance.

2023 Hyundai Verna Powertrain & Variants
The upcoming Verna's powertrain and variant options have already been made public by the brand. It will come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission (6MT) or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT). Moreover, a 1.5 MPi NA Petrol engine with a 6MT and an IVT transmission will be included. Each of these engines is RDE compliant and ready to run on E20 fuel. There will be four model levels available for the upcoming Hyundai Verna: EX, S, SX, and SX (O).
Verdict: Other mid-size sedans on the Indian market will face stiff competition from the upcoming Hyundai Verna. The 2023 Verna will continue Hyundai's tradition of packing its vehicles with a tonne of features. We can also assume that the forthcoming sedan will include ADAS technology.
