The Hyundai Verna demonstrated strong performance in the Global NCAP crash test, earning a total of 28.18 points out of a possible 34 in adult occupant protection. However, the test identified the bodyshell as unstable and incapable of withstanding further loadings. The Verna provided good protection for the driver's and passenger's head and neck during the frontal impact test, although the driver's chest protection was rated as marginal. Passenger chest protection, on the other hand, received a good rating.
The test revealed marginal protection for the driver's and passenger's knees, as they could potentially come into contact with dangerous structures behind the fascia. Additionally, the footwell area was deemed unstable.
In side-impact testing, the Verna offered good protection for the head, pelvis, and abdomen, with adequate chest protection. When subjected to the side pole impact test, the Verna received an 'OK' rating. It indicates good protection for the head and pelvis, marginal protection for the chest, and adequate protection for the abdomen.
