2023 Next-Gen Hyundai Verna N-Line: What the Spy Shots Say?
As we all know that this will be the 3rd N-Line model in the Korean brand's line-up, and it is quite obvious that it will feature sporty design elements throughout. The distinctive alloy wheels of the test mule coupled with the presence of red front brake callipers and all-wheel disc brakes hint at the vehicle's N-Line identity. The new-gen Verna will sport an all-new design apart from being longer and broader dimensionwise. One interesting addition is the new model will be the presence of ADAS features.
The N-Line Verna will feature a host of sporty cosmetic touches such as a gloss black front grille with red accents, N-Line-specific alloy wheels, dual barrel exhaust tip, a front splitter, an N-Line steering wheel, sporty pedals, red stitching inside the cabin and few N-Line badges here and there. An all-black cabin theme will make it to the N-Line iteration.
2023 Next-Gen Hyundai Verna N-Line: Mechanical Package and Powertrain
Talking about the mechanical package of the Verna N-Line, the low-slung sedan will be awarded a sporty suspension setup and a well-calibrated steering wheel, in order to suit its N-Line characteristics. Apart from this, the rumbling exhaust note from the dual-tip unit will be a feast for the ears of the driver, further adding to the purpose-driven configuration.
The 2023 Next-Gen Verna N-Line will be powered by a familiar 1.0 litre tGDi 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine belting out 120 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque. It will be paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox and Hyundai could also offer a 6-speed iMT unit. The regular New-Gen model will continue with the same set of powertrain combinations i.e. 1.5-litre MPi petrol, 1.5-litre CRDi diesel and the aforementioned 1.0-litre tGDi unit. Some media reports also claim that the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit could get the mild hybrid system, however, there is no clear indication in this regard.
Hyundai will possibly charge a premium of around Rs. 50,000-60,000 over the regular Verna for the N-Line trim. The Verna N-Line seems to be Hyundai's attempt to square off with the Volkswagen Virtus GT and Skoda Slavia, both powered by the 1.5-litre TSI EVO motor.

Verdict: The N-Line version of the new-gen Verna seems to be an exciting proposition considering the fact that it will get all the N-Line bells and whistles coupled with the sedan's fundamentally sporty characteristics. The much-needed update of the Verna will give a new life to Hyundai's sedan line-up and the inclusion of ADAS will work as a cherry on the cake.
