- 2023 Magnite is now RDE Compliant
- Price hikes and new Safety features as standard across all variants
- A few features slashed as well
- Interstingly, Magnite already scores a 4-star rating in GNCAP
We're just about 2 months into 2023 and another new update is here. Nissan has launched its Magnite SUV for 2023, brimmed with extra safety across all its variants. The engine is also compliant with the RDE norms, whose deadline is now just on the horizon. All this is accompanied by a price hike and a slashing of features too. It receives a price bump of Rs. 20,500, which is not much considering the package it now offers.
Let us highlight the changes that the Nissan Magnite went through in this pivotal shift.
Safety Bolstered For Good: New Features And Same Design
Now, the new emission norms are kicking in. But with that, safety standard norms deadline will follow suit as well. So, in a bid to shoot two birds with one stone, companies are launching updated cars with both the engine and safety in compliance with the rules. There are, however, no changes to the styling of the Magnite.
In the process, all the variants now come with the Vehicle control system, Traction Control, TPMS( Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), Hydraulic brake assist, and hill-start assist function. These additions are more necessary than any other inclusions. This will inspire a sense of confidence and better road safety standards.

Powertrain
The engine is the same as the outgoing model but is now reworked for the new emission norms. There have been no alterations made to the powertrain of the 2023 Magnite. It still comes with a 1.0 litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 72 Ps and 96 Nm of peak torque. Another engine option available with Magnite is a 1.0 litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 100 Ps and a maximum of 160 Nm torque.
Nissan Magnite- The Features Slashed
Not everything is an additional update. Nissan has cut down on some features as well. Magnites LED fog lights are now limited to just top-spec XV Premium trim. Mid-spec XL trim used to get rear parcel shelf and two tweeters on top of four speakers. With the 2023 Nissan Magnite, the XL trim loses both the rear parcel shelf and tweeters.
VERDICT- The new Magnite is now a very well-balanced proportion of safety and tech. The features like TPMS, TCS, rear washer with wipers, Cruise control, etc are everything that you need for a comfortable and safe ride. Also, if we look at the premium of Rs, 20,500 for these additions, it isn't a very unreasonable demand. You are getting a safer product, which in our opinion, is a good bargain. What do you think about Magnite and does it justifies the price hike? Feel free to share your opinions.
