RE Scram 450 Design & Features
Not so long ago, RE Scram 411 came into existence. Taking the notes from it, RE is developing the Scram 450. However, it will be based on the Himalayan 450 ADV which is also due to debut in the upcoming months. The new Scram will be bigger than the 411 but smaller than the ADV 450 itself. As visible in the spy photos, the overall dimensions of it look smaller when compared to the ADV 450.
In the past, we have already published that there will be at least three variants to the new Himalayan 450. The one we see here will be the most budget-friendly with a design to appeal to urban users. The single-piece seat, tail tidy, telescopic forks at the front, and 17-inch alloy wheels are visible in the pics. These features indicate a fun-to-ride and agile machine that Scrambler bikes are usually destined for.
Additionally, the Scram 450 will offer more funky features like LED lighting overall, and a twin-pod semi-digital instrument panel. However, we have seen a fully digital console on the Himalayan 450 test mules in the past. The Scram 450 on the other hand will most probably feature tech from lower segment bikes like the RE Meteor 350 & the Hunter 350.
Engine & Specifications
The most interesting bit of the upcoming Scram will be its engine. As we have already reported in the past, a new 450cc engine is on its way. Royal Enfield will introduce it via the new Himalayan series. As anticipated, it will be a 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The power output will match its direct rivals like the KTM Adventure 390.
We also suspect that the new 450 will come with loads of high-tech features. These might include multiple riding modes, slipper-assist clutch, 6-speed gearbox, traction control, and even cornering ABS. Such features shall allow the new Scram & Himalayan to compete with the tech-quipped rivals like the KTM.
