The Toyota Innova Crysta is once again available for bookings at a cost of Rs 50,000. This can be done both online through their website as well as offline via dealers. While price announcement and delivery details are still awaited from the company, we do know a lot about this popular MPV. Here is a quick look at some of the pros and cons of this people mover.
2023 Toyota Innova Crysta Pros
- Big on space : The Innova Crysta continues to remain big on space. As a combination of passenger and luggage carrier, the Innova Crysta is still one of the best options out there in the market. The 2023 model will be sold in both 7 & 8 seater configurations which means you will be able to opt for captain seats in the 2nd row
- Added features : Keeping up with times, Toyota has added more features in the updated model. Some of these include Rear Auto AC with Digital Display, 8-Way Power Adjust Driver Seat, Smart Entry System, Seat Back Table, TFT MID with detailed Drive Information, Leather Seat Color Options( Black & Camel Tan), Ambient illumination and One Touch Tumble Second Row Seats. A sunroof will not be an offer.
- Tried & Tested engine : The 2023 Innova Crysta will continue to use the 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine that is well known for long term reliability and oodles of torque for both urban runs as well as fully loaded drives. This engine will get both Eco & Power drive modes
- Added safety : The new model will be safer than before. As per the initial media release, the 2023 Toyota Innova Crysta diesel will come with as many as 7 SRS Airbags, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Vehicle Stability Control and Hill-Start Assist Control, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution ( EBD) and Brake Assist (BA), 3-point Seatbelt etc for the top end versions.

2023 Toyota Innova Crysta Cons
- No automatic : Apart from the MG Hector Plus, every other 3 row MPV / SUV in the segment offers an automatic option with the diesel engine. While this was available in the previous Crysta, Toyota is now offering the 2023 model with a manual gearbox only.
- No petrol option : While the older Innova was offered with a petrol unit, this is now being reserved for the HyCross only. Toyota it seems is targeting fleet buyers who usually opt for a diesel - manual combination. However, for NCR private buyers, a petrol engine makes more sense due to the 10 year diesel rule.
- Might get expensive : The Innova has always commanded a premium in the Indian market and the new model might not be different. When launched, it will be priced above the diesel models of XUV700 and MG Hector Plus. Stay tuned for the exact numbers soon!
