Hyundai Creta Facelift: Zooming Past Expectations in Sales and Bookings
Within a month of its launch, the 2024 Hyundai Creta garnered 24,000 orders, joining the earlier 51,000 bookings in February 2024. Hyundai's February sales of 15,276 Cretas marked a 12% year-on-year increase and set a record for the highest-ever Creta sales in India.
Recently, Hyundai celebrated another milestone as the Creta exceeded 75,000 unit bookings. Tarun Garg, Hyundai India's COO, shared insights on buyer preferences, waiting periods, pending bookings, and sales.

Hyundai Creta Facelift: New Waiting Period Details
Hyundai's Creta diesel is in higher demand than anticipated, with a waiting period of up to 6 months. Opting for the manual over the automatic could reduce the wait by a few weeks.
Petrol variants have a shorter wait time of about 2 months, while turbo-petrol models take slightly longer.
Hyundai Creta Facelift: Pending Booking
Hyundai has 97,000 pending bookings, with the Creta accounting for half. Production capacity stands at 825,000 units/year, with 95% utilization and 20% for exports. Acquisition of the Talegaon plant aims to increase capacity to 1 million units/year soon.
Hyundai Creta Facelift: Which Variant Takes the Lead?
The SUV offers three engines: a 1.5-litre regular petrol, a turbocharged version, and a 1.5-litre diesel. It has various gearbox options: six-speed manual, six-speed iVT/iMT, six-speed AT, and seven-speed DCT.
90% of buyers chose the mid-spec and top-spec versions, which come with more features and safety gear. Additionally, 43% opted for the diesel model, showing continued demand for diesel SUVs in this segment.
