KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Tata Motors is already testing the Safari facelift on the Indian roads
- The facelifted Safari is expected to get a new front design
- It will be more feature-loaded than the current model
Tata Safari is the flagship product of Tata Motors. It is the most expensive vehicle in the Tata lineup. The SUV recently received an update that includes a number of advanced features like a 360-degree view camera system, a new 10.25-inch infotainment system, level-2 ADAS, etc. However, the Safari still lacks some features which are expected to be present in its upcoming facelift. Also, the camouflaged test vehicles of the Tata Safari facelift have been spotted several times on Indian roads, signaling towards nearing of its launch. Well, in this article, we have discussed the 3 most probable features that the upcoming Tata Safari facelift is likely to get.
The Upcoming Tata Safari Facelift Features: New ADAS Features
The Tata Safari received a major update in February this year. The update includes level-2 ADAS tech with several features like front collision warning, auto emergency braking, auto high beam assist, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, etc. However, the ADAS suite in the current Safari misses out on some very important features like lane keep assist, lane follow assist, & adaptive cruise control. Tata is expected to add these ADAS features in the upcoming Safari facelift to make it more attractive and advanced.
The Upcoming Tata Safari Facelift Features: Next-Gen Advanced Telematics & Connected Car Features
The current Tata Safari already offers Tata's iRA-connected car tech. But it only offers some basic remote commands like remote lights on/off & door lock/unlock, etc. Advanced telematics features like remote engine start/stop, AC on/off, remote air-purifier control, remote ventilated seat control, digital key, smartwatch integration, H2C (Home to Car) with Alexa & Google Assistant support, etc are missing in the current iteration of iRA-connected car tech. The upcoming facelift of Tata Safari is expected to be equipped with most of the above-mentioned features as Tata has already confirmed that they are upgrading their telematics & connected car platform.
The Upcoming Tata Safari Facelift Features: A New Transmission & Steering
Recently, the upcoming Tata Harrier facelift's interior was spied. It revealed a new design gear lever & steering wheel. As you can see in the image above, the gear lever looks like a shift-by-wire type unit that we generally see on premium or luxurious cars. Also, the steering wheel has a different design of controls that are mounted in a temporary manner. As Tata Harrier & Safari share most of their parts & features, the facelifted Safari is also expected to come with the new design 2-spoke steering wheel and a small shift-by-wire type gear lever. Moreover, Tata might also add paddle shifters in the Safari facelift.
