- Hyundai has been testing its new micro SUV codenamed Ai3
- When launched, Exter will rival the likes of the Tata Punch
- Hyundai's new micro SUV is said to be based on the Hyundai Casper
- Ai3 is also expected to be tech & feature loaded like other Hyundai cars
Hyundai Motors has been testing its upcoming new micro SUV codenamed Ai3 for quite some time now. There have been several incidents of 2023 Hyundai Exter being spotted during road testing. Several spied images are already available on the internet. Also, some of the spied images of the Hyundai Ai3 have confirmed the presence of features like a sunroof, H-shaped DRLs, projector headlamps, roof rails, shark fin antenna, etc.
Said to be based on the internationally available Hyundai Casper, the Ai3 micro SUV is expected to be tech and feature-loaded, and bring some best-in-segment and first-in-segment features when it launches in India. Hence, here is a list of the top 5 features that you can expect from the upcoming Hyundai Exter micro SUV (Ai3).
5 Features To Expect From Hyundai's Micro SUV (Ai3): Sunroof
Hyundai is expected to offer a single-pane smart electric sunroof in the upcoming Ai3 micro SUV. Several spied images of the Ai3 testing vehicles have already confirmed the presence of a sunroof. As this new micro SUV from Hyundai is likely to rival the likes of Tata Punch, we expect that Tata will also start offering a sunroof in the Punch once the Hyundai Exter is launched in India.
5 Features To Expect From Hyundai's Micro SUV (Ai3): 6 Airbags & Active Safety Tech
Hyundai has started making several safety features standard across its vehicle lineup in India. Even small and affordable Hyundai cars like Grand i10 Nios and Aura now offer 4 airbags as standard. However, as the Indian government has mandated 6 airbags on all passenger cars from October 2023, the new Hyundai Exter will come equipped with 6 airbags as standard when it launches in India. Moreover, we expect Hyundai to make active safety features like ESP (electronic stability program), TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system), Traction Control & Hill Hold as standard in the Ai3 micro SUV.
5 Features To Expect From Hyundai's Micro SUV (Ai3): Bluelink Connected Car Tech
Hyundai has been a pioneer when it comes to providing advanced connected car tech in its vehicles in India. Currently, the i20 is the cheapest Hyundai that offers advanced Bluelink-connected car tech. The upcoming Ai3 micro SUV will most likely offer a much more advanced version of Bluelink-connected car tech with features like smartwatch integration, Alexa and Google Assistant support, remote engine on/off and AC on/off, etc.
5 Features To Expect From Hyundai's Micro SUV (Ai3): Better Parking Aids
Being a micro SUV, the upcoming Hyundai Exter will offer an SUV-like stance, higher ground clearance, and higher seat height. Thus, to make maneuverability and parking easy for drivers, we expect that Hyundai will offer at least front parking sensors as an additional parking aid in the upcoming Ai3. However, Hyundai might surprise us by offering a front camera setup along with the usual reverse camera.
5 Features To Expect From Hyundai's Micro SUV (Ai3): A Better Automatic
The Hyundai Ai3 micro SUV's main rival would be Tata Punch. The Tata Punch offers an AMT automatic in its lineup. However, Hyundai has several other technologies when it comes to automatics. From AMT and CVT/IVT to DCT and Torque Converter automatics, Hyundai has all kinds of automatic transmissions available in the market today. To challenge the Tata Punch AMT, we expect Hyundai to offer the Ai3 micro SUV with at least an IVT/CVT automatic transmission if not the DCT or Torque Converter.
