The current-gen model of Hyundai Creta sold in India scored 3 stars in the GNCAP (Global New Car Assessment Program) crash test results. The body shell integrity of the SUV was rated as unstable and not capable of withstanding further loads. These results were based on the previous testing protocols and this devoid of other tests like side impact, safety assist system and more. On the other side of the spectrum, the Indonesian Hyundai Creta Facelift scored 5 stars in the ASEAN NCAP.

The Hyundai Creta Facelift is just a mere cosmetic update over the current gen model. The safety rating of both models speaks loads about the difference in the build quality of the Indian and Indonesian spec models.

Verdict: It is already very clear from the results that the Indonesian spec Creta is leaps ahead in terms of safety than the Indian model. The upcoming facelifted model which is slated for launch by mid-2023 will just be a minor cosmetic upgrade. So we are safe to say that the upcoming 2023 Creta Facelift will score more or less the same as the current model in the GNCAP crash test results.
