Skoda Kylaq Design

Even with all the protective covers, one can get a blurred image of how it will look. Based on my imagination, it feels like a baby Kushaq which is just one segment above. The 16-inch wheels appear perfect for its size, and the front design gives us a hint of Skoda stepping in to add the trendiest LED lighting in the Kylaq, with the main headlamps placed below and the LED DRLs serving as the "eyes" of the car.

Also, the signature Skoda grille is used here, which appears 99% similar to the one found on the Skoda Kushaq. The photos suggest that it will have a ground clearance of around 190 to 200 mm, and its length will be 3995 mm, which is confirmed. Overall, the design will be compact, functional with european flair.

Skoda Kylaq Engine

One of the most refined and punchiest engine in town, the 1.0L TSI will become the heart of the Kylaq, and we all know how good is it at delievering power along with maintaining fuel efficiency. To add more, this engine is also avaiable in Kushaq, Slavia, Virtus and Taigun. Talking about power figures it makes 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque.

Now, talking about fuel efficiency, the Skoda Kushaq easily delivers 17 to 18 kmpl on the highway and around 12 to 14 kmpl in the city. So, considering its smaller size and weight, it's fair to assume around 19 to 20 kmpl on the highway and 15 kmpl in the city for the Kylaq. The transmission will be 6-MT and 6-AT only.

Skoda Kylaq Features

Skoda Kushaq Interior for reference

The interior will mostly be a toned-down version of what is offered in the Slavia and Kushaq, with features similar to those found in its competitors. Expect an all-black upholstery with piano black elements to give it a lively feel. It will come with a 10-inch infotainment screen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The interior will also offer two options for the drivers display: one digital and the other analog. Wireless charging pad, automatic AC, rear AC vents, armrest, cruise control, and auto-dimming IRVM. Plus, most importantly it will get a single pane sunroof.

Skoda Kushaq getting 5-Stars from G NCAP

The vehicle's base is the same as that of Skoda and Volkswagen cars built for India, and this platform, called MQB-AO-IN, has earned a perfect 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. So, there is a high probability that the Kylac will also earn a 5-star safety rating and become the second safest car in its segment, after the Tata Nexon.

Speaking more about safety, Skoda has stated that it will come with 25 "active and passive safety features," which may also include ADAS, as the Czech automaker has been seen testing ADAS in its cars.

Skoda Kylaq Expected Price

This new car will be available to the general public at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh and will go up to a maximum of Rs 13 to 14 lakh. As most of its rivals are also in this price bracket, Skoda is maintaining a competitive price tag for this highly promising car. Additionally, there are high chances that the Kylaq will also get a Monte Carlo edition, which is quite popular among Gen-Z.
