1. Honda Elevate

Honda Elevate has secured the first position on our list of our best mid-size SUVs under Rs 20 lakh. This mid-size SUV comes powered by a potent 1.5-litre engine that churns out 119 bhp of power and 145 Nm of torque. The Unique characteristic of Elevate is its traditional design language which offers a spacious cabin. Apart from this, the SUV has a ground clearance of 220mm. You get advanced features such as a sunroof, and a big 10.25-inch infotainment system Other notable features of the Elevate include electronic stability control and Honda Sensing ADAS which is offered in the higher ZX trim. 

2. Hyundai Creta Facelift

The Hyundai Creta is offered in three engine options- 1.5 litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre Turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. After the 2024 update, the SUV has received multiple cosmetic changes which include full LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels and a new grille. 

As for the features, the SUV comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment display, a fully digital instrument console, dual-zone climate control and a 360-degree camera. Additionally, the new Creta gets ADAS level 2 suite, up to 70 safety features and disc brakes for all four wheels. Safety features of the SUV include electronic stability control and 6 airbags. 

Hyundai introduced the new turbo unit with a new Creta update. The 1.5-litre turbo engine generates a maximum power output of 158 bhp and a peak torque of 253 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed DCT transmission. 

3. Kia Seltos

Kia Seltos has been one of the most successful models in Kias India portfolio. While it offers similar specs and features to its sibling Hyundai Creta. The different design language of the Kia Seltos has always remained a USP for the Seltos. Kia Seltos looks upmarket than the Hyundai Creta and its design elements such as the Tiger Noise Grille look stunning. 

Some noticeable features of the SUV include 18-inch alloy wheels which are offered in the higher GTX+, and X-Line variants, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way powered driver seat and a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, you also get ADAS level 2. 

Kia Seltos is offered in three engine options in India which include a 1.5-litre petrol (115 PS/144 Nm), a 1.5-litre diesel (116 PS/250 Nm) and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that churns out 160 PS and 253 Nm. Transmission options for the SUV include a 6-speed manual and CVT (1.5-litre Petrol), 6-speed IMT and torque converter automatic (1.5-litre diesel, 6-speed iMT and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) (1.5-litre turbo petrol engine).

4. MG Astor

The MG Astor is offered in two engine options in India- a 1.5-litre petrol engine that churns out the maximum power of 110 PS and 144 Nm as standard. There's also a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine on option which comes paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

As for the features, the MG Astor offers features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play support, ventilated seats, a 7-inch digital driver's display, a 6-way power adjustable driver seat and most importantly a panoramic sunroof.

Safety features of the Astor include six airbags, an Advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. The ADAS suite of the Astor offers features such as adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, lane keeping and departure assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and blind spot detection.

5. Volkswagen Taigun

The Volkswagen Taigun comes powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine which makes 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque. Additionally, the Taigun also gets a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine which makes 150 PS of power and 250 Nm torque. Both these powertrains come paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.0-litre unit gets a torque converter option and the 1.5-litre unit comes with a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic transmission)

The Taigun gets most of the advanced features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 8-inch instrument cluster, connected car technology, ventilated seats and powered seats, sunroof, automatic climate control and ambient lighting, rearview camera and Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Safety features of the Taigun include six airbags and electronic stability control. In the Indian auto market, the Taigun goes against the likes of Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta and Skoda Kushaq.
