BMW Group India has today launched the BMW 220i Black Shadow edition. Locally assembled at the carmaker's facility off Chennai, the new model features enhanced styling elements for a more striking visual appeal. The same is achieved through a handful of M Performance parts that are not only visually attractive but are even important components of the carmaker's lightweight construction concept.

BMW 220i Shadow Edition Specs
Powering the BMW 220i Black Shadow Edition is the carmaker's 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo four-pot petrol engine that offers a good amalgamation of performance and efficiency. The motor offers a maximum power output of 190 hp and a peak torque of 280 Nm at 1350-4600 rpm. If the manufacturer's claims are to be believed, the car can accelerate from 0 -100 km/hr in 7.1 seconds. The engine comes paired with a seven-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission that offers steering-mounted shift paddles. Also, there are three drive modes on offer - ECO PRO, Comfort and Sport.
BMW 220i Shadow Edition Price in India
The new model is available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 43,50,000 and its availability will be limited to just 24 units. The 220i Shadow Edition is on sale in two colour schemes - Alpine White and Black Sapphire, while the upholstery options include Sensatec Oyster+Black and Sensatec Black. It must be noted that the BMW Individual Shadow Line package carried by car features parts worth Rs 3.25 lakh.

Buyers of the BMW 220i Black Shadow can benefit from tailor-made financial plans designed based on individual requirements. The new model is on sale with the BMW 360ڠfinancial plan at an all-inclusive monthly payment of INR 50,999. Also, the buyers benefit from exclusive interest rates and an assured buyback offer of up to four years with flexible term-end options.
Furthermore, the cost of ownership can be reduced by opting for Service Inclusive and Service Inclusive Plus plans that can be chosen depending on the mileage and duration. These optional packs cover Condition Based Service (CBS) and maintenance work with plans ranging from 3 yrs / 40,000 kms to 10 yrs / 2,00,000 kms. The prices of these packages start from INR 47,318. Meanwhile, repair-inclusive packs extend the warranty from the third year of ownership to up to six years.
Exterior, Interior and Safety
The exterior enhancements for the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coup領Black Shadow edition include a high-gloss black mesh-style M front grille, black exterior mirror caps, high-gloss black rear spoiler, black chrome tailpipe finishers, and 18-inch M Performance Y-Spoke Styling 554 M forged wheels in Jet Black Matt colour. These rims feature BMW floating hub cap that has the logo remain leveled at all times.

The interior features sport seats with memory function while the cabin also gets segment-first illuminated trim. Meanwhile, the ambient lighting package with six dimmable designs creates an atmosphere for every mood. The safety features on offer include six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, ARB technology (actuator contiguous wheel slip limitation system), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor.
