BMW R 1300 GS: What Makes it New?
The upcoming ADV motorcycle will come with a slimmer design language when compared to the outgoing model. Apart from all this, it will be more feature-loaded and powerful than its popular predecessor. While deriving some major design elements from the R 1250 GS, the new motorcycle gets a more athletic look which makes it look like a real ADV beast.
Talking about the bodywork, the manufacturer has used a sheet metal frame which is joined by a die-cast aluminum subframe. The suspension duties of the ADV motorcycle are handled by BMW's own patented Telelever front suspension and Paralever rear suspension. The upcoming beast will expectedly provide a comfortable riding experience to the riders.
Engine and Power
The R 1300 GS comes powered by a new 1300cc, twin-cylinder engine that churns out the maximum power of 145 bhp @ 7750 rpm and a peak torque of 149Nm @ 6500 rpm. The motorcycle gets a six-speed transmission. According to the company, the new 1300cc powerhouse is more compact despite getting better displacement. This is made possible by positioning the gearbox under the engine.
