Mahindra Thar 5-Door
The upcoming Thar 5-door will boast an extended wheelbase and length to accommodate two more doors. The changes might include a revised front grille, new dual-tone alloy wheels, and other minor changes to the exterior. One major addition that was seen in the test mule was an electric sunroof. Also, the test mule has revealed the presence of LED lighting,
On the inside, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment will be available in the 5-door version, we can also anticipate some changes in the instrument console area. The second row is expected to get multiple seating layout versions, one with a single bench seat and one with captain chairs. We can also expect the addition of new features to make the Thar more feature-rich.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door Engine & Drivetrain
The upcoming Thar 5-door is expected to get the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine as the Thar 3-door version. The former produces 150PS of power while the latter produces 130 PS of power in the 3-door version. This time the brand might tune the engines differently for the 5-door version. The 5-door version is expected to be launched in both RWD & 4WD drivetrain.
Verdict
The 5-Door Mahindra Thar is long awaited in the Indian market. The current Thar does not offer the practicality for a family but the 5-dooe version will make the Thar more practical. The 5-door Thar will compete with the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-Door which is also anticipated to be launched in the coming months.
