There's just no keeping the Mahindra Thar away from the limelight. The Indian car maker has now announced a few discounts to push sales of the three-door version, which have admittedly slowed down a little after the five-door's breakout booking numbers. Diwali Discounts on the Mahindra Thar
The Mahindra Thar is an aspirational, lifestyle vehicle, and its sales numbers prove that point every month. Buyers can now get discounts of upto Rs 1.25 lakh on the LX 2WD variants of the Thar. Higher variants can be had with discounts of upto Rs 1.3 lakh. The Thar Earth Edition is also still around, and it is available with discounts of upto Rs 1.6 lakh.
The Thar Earth Edition receives a unique Satin Matte Desert Fury paint scheme, along with Earth Edition badging, desert-themed decals, ORVMs with Desert Fury inserts, and a body-coloured grille.
Changes on the inside include Satin Matte inserts, beige stitching for contrast, along with embossed dune headrests, a dark chrome twin peaks logo on the steering, and dark chrome inserts on some other areas.

Verdict
Mahindra is definitely trying to push sales of the 3-door Thar, given all the hype around the Thar Roxx. Once the hype goes down, both models can continue to co-exist peacefully, catering to different sets of customers with specific needs.
