BYD Denza N9: Details
BYD Denza N9 is the fifth model launched by BYD's refreshed premium brand. Now as BYD owns one hundred percent of the Denza brand stakes, all the operations are controlled by the Chinese brand. Now, the Denza brand has D9 MPV, N8, N7, and Z9 GT and the latest addition is the Denza N9 SUV. Recently unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show, the N9 SUV's China launch is still pending. It is available in two guises which include a plug-in hybrid version while another is a full electric one.
But patenting the N9 SUV in India hints at its launch in our region sometime in 2025. Expecting the N9's launch here in India will not be a strange thing when we already have premium SUVs like the Kia EV9 and more upcoming models to come in 2025.
BYD Denza N9: Design
The BYD Denza N9 will be on a bigger side, making it look like a huge vehicle on the road. Apart from that, the optional 22-inch alloy wheels add to the huge appeal of the SUV. Coming inside the cabin, it has a seating capacity for six passengers (three rows each having two seats). On the feature front, it gets a 50-inch HUD and a three-screen setup which includes a 17.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 13.2-inch display as a digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch touchscreen display for co-passenger.
Powertrain
The BYD Denza N9's PHEV version is powered by a 2.0 litre IC engine that is capable of making 205 PS, which charges an electric battery of 47 kWh capacity, providing an electric range of up to 165 km. The provided battery pack supplies power to two electric motors which contribute to the overall power supply and take it up to 911 bhp. The PHEV guise is said to have a top speed of 230 kmph.
On the other hand, the fully electric version will slightly differ in size when compared to the PHEV guise. The all-electric version gets a bigger battery pack with a triple motor setup, making a total of 952 bhp. Some reports suggest that the N9 SUV will make its China debut in 2025 at an estimated price of CNY 0.5 Million (nearly Rs. 59 lakh).
