BYD Seal Specifications & Platform
The Seal EV is built based on the brand's 'Ocean X' design language, giving it a sculpted appearance characterized by sharp lines and curves. It adopts the e-platform 3.0 architecture, which supports BYD's proprietary Blade battery system. In global markets, the BYD Seal offers two battery pack options.
The battery choices include a 61.4kWh battery pack, delivering an impressive 550km driving range. Alternatively, the second option features an 82.5kWh battery, boasting an even more remarkable 700km range per charge. Additionally, the larger battery pack generates a peak power of 530bhp and peak torque of 730 Nm, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. Presently, it remains unconfirmed which option will be introduced in the Indian market, or possibly both will be made available.

Verdict
BYD is globally recognized for its blade battery technology. The brand currently offers two EV models in the Indian market, both of which are performing well. The upcoming Seal EV is poised to be a compelling addition to the Indian market, where it will vie for market share against competitors such as the KIA EV6 and Hyundai IONIQ 5 EVs. The Seal appears to offer superior features and performance, but pricing will be a critical factor. BYD must competitively price the EV to achieve strong sales figures.
