BYD Sealion 7 has been officially launched today at Rs. 48.90 lakhs starting ex-showroom price with a single battery pack and two variants. Revealed back at the Auto Expo 2025 in January, this all-electric SUV shares its visuals with the Seal sedan and takes a coupe SUV route. 1. Design: You've Seen Something Like This

The BYD Sealion 7's front end clearly borrows styling cues from its sibling, the Seal. The closed-off grille, along with the sharply styled LED headlights and bumper, give it a distinctly assertive look. A sloping roofline lends a coupe-like profile to this SUV, while a flush, electronically extending door handles add a touch of modern sophistication. All in all, the Sealion 7 looks sharp and is a head-tuner for everyone and will make you take a second glance after you park it and walk away.
2. Single Battery Pack But 2 Variants With Different Power And Range Figures
The BYD Sealion 7 gives you a single battery option but in two different trims. The rear-wheel-drive "Premium" version packs a punch with 300 hp power and can hit 0-100 km/h in a brisk 6.7 seconds. But if you crave adrenaline, the all-wheel-drive "Performance" model unleashes a staggering 522 hp, slashing that 0-100 km/h time to just 4.5 seconds! Both versions use the same 82.56 kWh battery, though the rear-wheel-drive model squeezes out a bit more range, promising 567 km compared to the all-wheel-drive's 542 km.
3. Features: Premium And Trendy

The BYD Sealion 7 pulls out all the stops when it comes to features. It gets a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a digital driver's display, seamless wireless smartphone integration, a heads-up display, ambient lighting, and a top-notch sound system. Of course, you'll also find all the must-haves, like the connected car tech, panoramic glassroof, NFC card, vehicle to load, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, and much more. And BYD hasn't skimped on safety, loading the Seal Lion 7 with a 360-degree camera, 11 airbags as standard, front and rear parking sensors, ADAS, and more safety features.
4. Pricing
As for the pricing, the entry-level Premium variant is priced at Rs. 48.90 lakhs ex-showroom while the top-spec Performance variant sits at Rs. 54.90 lakhs.

5. Bookings And Delivery
The bookings for the Sealion 7 was up and running when the brand kicked it off at the Auto Expo this January at Rs. 70,000 where the brand in a special move, added the other Rs. 70,000 of the booking amount. As for the deliveries, it will commence from March 7, 2025 onwards.
Verdict
The Sealion 7 is postioned as a premium electric SUV and rivals the likes of Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and others.
