Citroen launched the C3 Hatchback last year in 2 variants, Live and Feel. Just last month it announced a higher-end variant, Shine which was introduced for the naturally aspirated 1.2-liter unit only. It is now available in the turbo variants as well and the price of the same is out. Since the Shine trim sits at the top, it gets extra features as well.
Let's quickly look at the price and the things it offers now.
Citroen C3 Turbo Shine Priced At Rs. 8.8 lakhs
This new variant is further offered in four versions -Shine, Shine Vibe Pack, Shine dual-tone, and Shine dual-tone with Vibe Pack. While the lowest starting point of the Shine variant stands at Rs. 7.6 lakhs for the 1.2 Naturally Aspirated petrol Shine Vibe pack.
The Turbo Petrol unit price list is tabled below.
Variants | Ex-showroom Price |
Feel Turbo Dual Tone | Rs 8.28 lakh |
Feel Dual Tone Vibe Pack | Rs 8.43 lakh |
Shine Turbo Dual Tone | Rs 8.80 lakh |
Shine Turbo Dual Tone Vibe Pack | Rs 8.92 lakh |
Coming to the Turbo variant of the C3 hatch, it starts at Rs. 8.28 lakhs for the Feel Turbo Dual Tone and Tops out at Rs. 8.92 lakhs for the Shine Turbo Dual Tone Vibe pack.
Shine Variant Feature Upgrades
Since the Shuine variant sits at the top end of the variant spectrum, it boasts additional features. These feature updates are missing on the Live and Feel. These include electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear parking camera, front fog lamps, rear skid plates, rear wiper and washer, and rear defogger along with day/night IRVMs and 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. It can be paired with the My Citroen Connect app with around 35 connectivity features as a part of the Citroen Connectivity 1.0 Plan as well.
Safety Bumped Up
The upgrades are not just inconvenience, but also in terms of safety. It now boasts features such as hill-hold control, electronic stability control, engine auto start/stop, and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) along with dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS, and EBD. You can also book your Citroen ride from their official website.
Engine
Coming to the mechanicals, it comes with a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated unit producing 82 PS power and 115 Nm of torque. The 1.2 turbocharged mill bumps these figures up to 110 PS power with a peak torque of 190 Nm. The former is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the latter comes with 6-speed manual transmission on board.
VERDICT- The Shine variant offers a much more comprehensive features list than the other 2 variants. It is expected too as it is the top-end variant in the C3 lineup. With this, it catches up on the things that it was missing at its inception. On top of this, a 3-row Creta rival, christened C3 Aircross made its debut just recently, which makes the French carmaker enter the hot space of compact SUVs.
