Citroen India is all set to launch the electric avatar of its C3 hatchback. Citroen eC3 EV bookings have opened, and interested customers can do so by paying a refundable booking amount of Rs 25,000. Customers who are interested can reserve the EV on the Citroen La Maison dealerships' and brand's official website. The new Citroen eC3 will be offered in two variants: Live and Feel. The B-segment hatchback's electrified variant has a similar appearance to its ICE counterpart but is marked with an "e" badging to distinguish it from the ICE counterpart.

Citroen eC3 EV
The Citroen eC3 will come wit a 29.2 kWh battery pack and a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum output of 143 Nm and 57 bhp of power. Citroen's hatchback has a 320-kilometer ARAI-certified electric driving range. The hatch's top speed is 107 km/h, and it can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. If we talk about the charging time, the battery pack can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 57 minutes utilising 100% DC rapid charging. While the typical 15AMP plug point takes approximately 10.5 hours to charge.
The overall design of the electric C3 is similar to that of its ICE sister. It receives a number of EV-specific alterations, such as the addition of a charging port to the front left fender. The C3 is marketed as a B hatchback in name only, but it has an SUV attitude, much like its ICE sibling.

A 10.25-inch infotainment system, connected car technologies, driving modes, theater-style seating, high seating positions, and other technical features will all be present in the eC3. Additionally, 3 new dual-tone paint schemes, 2 interior themes, 4 colour variations, and 47 customization options distributed across 3 distinct packs will be introduced.
Verdict: The French automaker will be able to compete against the Tata Tiago EV with the upcoming Citroen eC3. With the introduction of the Citroen eC3 EV, Citroen is aiming at fleet owners. The price of the upcoming B-segment electric hatchback is anticipated to be between Rs 8 to 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
