Launched on April 7, Citroen India has managed to register 230 units of their first product, the C5 Aircross SUV. This CKD unit comes in two variants namely Feel and Shine. Both are priced at Rs 29.90 lakh and Rs 31.90 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi respectively.
The French carmaker announced that they have received over 1000 pre-bookings for their product and that means, to cater to all the buyers they have to increase their production capacity. Currently, C5 Aircross is their only product and they are also in talks to launch the C3 SUV that will rival the other compact SUVs.
Mechanically, this SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, BS6 compliant turbocharged diesel engine. This unit churns out 177 PS at 3750 RPM with a peak torque of 400 Nm at 2000 RPM. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is tuned to this unit and the ARAI certified fuel economy is measured at 18.60 kmpl. For further assistance, one gets paddle shifters behind the steering wheel that enable the driver to control the vehicle better. There are three driving modes too - Eco, Normal and Sports.

The entry-level Feel variant is equipped with features like an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, digital instrument cluster, diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and more.
Citroen C5 Aircross is equipped with Grip control and gets five different modes namely - Sand, Snow, Standard, Traction control off and All-terrain. The all-terrain is equipped to handle mud, grass and damp road surfaces easily.
The top-spec Shine variant gets a panoramic sunroof, LED projector headlights and the hands-free opening of the tailgate. The latter works by hovering your foot under the tailgate that helps you when you have loads of stuff in your hands.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD and ESP, traction control, ISOFIX mount child seats, hill descent control, speed-sensing door lock, tyre pressure monitoring system and others. Both the variants are available in dual-tone colour options.
