This yellow shade of the 2022 Creta was spotted at a Hyundai dealership and upon further investigation we found out that this particular model was to be delivered to the airport authorities. But why yellow colour specifically you ask? We've got you covered.
Yellow colour is one of the most visible colour in the spectrum and to the naked eyes. And on the airports where the visibility is an all-time zero in some regions, yellow colour cars help the pilot in manuvering the aircraft through darker paths while taxing. In low visibibility operations, yellow colour is the most visible. Furthermore, the cars use beacons and the LED signage to alert the pilot.
Mechanically, Hyundai Creta is powered by three engine options - 1.5L non-turbo petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel. Both the oil burner and naturally aspirated petrol motor pumps out 113 bhp of power on tap while the peak torque sticks to 250 Nm and 144 Nm respectively. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and for the automatic, the diesel gets a 6-speed torque converter unit as an option and petrol motor sticks with the IVT unit.
The more powerful engine in the lot, the 1.4L turbocharged unit produces 138 bhp of power with a maximum torque of 242 Nm. This engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT unit only. Upon further asking, this specific yellow Creta was the base-spec E trim and packed in a 1.5L petrol motor under the hood.
