In a recent update from one of our sources, the unofficial bookings of the upcoming 2022 Maruti Dzire CNG are now open at a starting price of Rs 11,000. Digging further upon we got to know that the Dzire CNG will be made available in two variants - VXI and ZXI. The launch is expected to happen by end of March or the first week of April.
Mechanically, Dzire CNG will be powered by the 1.2L DualJet, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor. In its petrol form, this engine churns out 89 bhp of power on tap with a maximum torque of 113 Nm. However, with the CNG, the power and torque figures are expected to be limited to 72 bhp and 91 Nm respectively.
This motor will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission only. Unlike the petrol that also gets an AMT as an option, the CNG version will not see the convenience of an automatic. We expect an ARAI mileage of above 30 km/kg for the Dzire CNG.

Feature-wise, the VXI variant of the Dzire will be equipped with a 2-Din music system with Aux-In and Bluetooth connectivity, four speakers, manual AC, all-four power windows, rear AC vents, tilt-adjustable steering wheel with multi-function controls, dual-tone interior with fabric upholstery, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, LED taillights and more.
The second to the top variant, ZXI will be equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It'll also be offered with automatic climate control, six speakers, one-touch up driver side window, fog lights at the front, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, push-button start/stop and more.
Safety-wise, both the variants will be equipped with dual airbags at the front, ABS with EBD, high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder, child seat anchor points, speed-sensing door lock, reverse parking sensors and more.

The VXI variant is priced at Rs 7.19 lakh while the ZXI variant sticks to Rs 7.87 lakh. The upcoming CNG variants are expected to see a rise of Rs 1 lakh over their petrol counterpart. Upon its launch, Maruti Dzire will rival Tata Tigor CNG which is also available in two variants, XZ and XZ+ only. It is priced at Rs 7.70 lakh and Rs 8.30 lakh. The top-spec XZ+ also gets a dual-tone shade that is available at Rs 8.42 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
