Ford Endeavour Sells More Than Toyota Fortuner & MG Gloster Combined

Currently, there are three large-size SUVs that have caught the fancy of SUV buyers and these are MG Gloster, Ford Endeavour and the mighty Toyota Fortuner. However, with the recent sales figure for June of this year, it seems that Ford Endeavour has outsold the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster combined.

Yes, Ford sold 892 units of the Endeavour while Toyota brought in 549 units only. Sharing details on the MG Gloster then only 306 units were sold. One must note here that these are not the exact sales numbers but the the dealer dispatches. So, this doesn't necessarily translate into dying demand for the top-selling Toyota Fortuner or an increased demand for the Ford Endeavour.

Ford Endeavour packs in a mix of a frugal diesel engine, off-roading capabilities and a plethora of features. Under the hood, it comes with a 2.0-litre, turbocharged diesel that generates 168 bhp with 420 Nm of peak torque and this unit is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

Toyota Fortuner gets two engine options - 2.7L making 164 bhp and 245 Nm while the 2.8L diesel makes 201 bhp and 420 Nm of peak torque for MT and 500 Nm of peak torque for the AT. The petrol gets a 5-speed MT while the diesel gets a 6-speed MT. Both the engines also receive an optional 6-speed automatic torque converter unit.

MG Gloster gets two diesel units - 2.0L turbo and a 2.0L bi-turbo diesel. The latter generates as much as 215 bhp/480 Nm while the 2.0L turbo churns out 161 bhp and 375 Nm of peak torque. MG Gloster is only available with an 8-speed automatic gearbox only.
