Hero Destini 125 Launch This Month
The 2024 Hero Destini 125 boasts a fresh, neo-retro design, departing from the design cues of its predecessor, the Duet. It features a distinctive trapezoidal-shaped LED headlamp with projector DRLs and turn indicators positioned lower on the front apron. The top variant incorporates copper chrome accents, while lower variants feature chrome accents. The base variant rides on steel rims, while the mid-spec and top variants are equipped with diamond-cut alloy wheels. The side panels exude a strong retro character, and the rear end showcases a unique H-shaped LED tail lamp with integrated turn indicators.
The Destini 125 offers a range of features across its variants where the VX variant is equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster, while the ZX and ZX+ variants feature an advanced LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. All variants boast LED projector headlamps, LED taillights, and self-cancelling turn indicators. The VX variant rides on standard cast alloy wheels, while the ZX and ZX+ variants are equipped with premium diamond-cut alloy wheels. Additionally, the scooter also offers a USB charging port, a boot lamp, a pillion backrest (available on ZX and ZX+ variants), and an external fuel filler cap for added convenience.

Retained Mechanics
The 2024 Hero Destini retains the same 124.6cc engine as its predecessor, with no changes to its performance figures. It continues to produce 9bhp and 10.4Nm of torque. The scooters wheelbase has been extended by 57mm, now measuring 1302mm, while the seat height has been reduced slightly from 778mm to 770mm which would be easier for shorter riders as well.
As for its pricing, it is expected to start at around Rs. 90,000 for the entry-level variant and it would take on the likes of the Jupiter 125 and the Access 125 in thew segment.
Verdict
While the updated Hero Destini 125 will give tough competiton to its rivals, the pricing will play a major role in deciding its place in the segment that currently has a fierce rivalry between exisiting player. However, with the improvement in features and other key areas, I expect a better place for it in the market this time.
