After much hype, the Hero Karizma XMR 210 is finally launched in India at an introductory price of Rs. 1,72,900 ex-showroom. Reviving the iconic Karizma moniker is a masterstroke by the brand as it already enjoys a cult following. With a 210cc engine and plenty of practical and segment-first features on board, we have compared it with the Yamaha R15 already. But it is not the only one in the segment that it locks horns with.

In straight-up numeric terms, the Karizma is the higher of the two. You sit at 810 mm height, an extra 10mm. Moreover, the Karizma XMR 210 gets a longer wheelbase by a mere 6mm at 1351 mm. Also, the Karizma is heavier than the Gixxer SF 250 by 2.5 kgs. However, when you talk about ground clearance, the Suzuki takes the lead by a margin of 5 mm at 165 mm.

Engine capacity is something that is one of the major differences between these two. While the Karizma gets a 210 cc liquid-cooled engine, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 on the other hand employs a bigger 249cc unit. Also, it evidently results in different power figures as well where the stand-out winner comes out to be the Gixxer 250, although by a small margin.
The Karizma XMR 210 puts out a power of 25.5PS @ 9250 rpm along with a torque of 20.4 Nm @7250 rpm. The Gixxer SF 250, on the other hand, puts out 26.5 hp@ 9300 rpm and a torque of 22.2Nm @ 7300 rpm.

As a result, the Karizma XMR unquestionably stands out as a motorcycle abundant in advanced attributes.
Jumping onto the similarities, both get a fully digital instrument cluster that displays various ride-related info such as speed, distance traveled, fuel, and more. On top of this, Bluetooth connectivity is present on both bikes for alerts like calls and SMS on the go. But with a few segment-first loadings, the Karizma XMR 210 takes the lead in terms of the tech on board.

In terms of pricing, with the introductory price in effect, the Karizma is the more affordable way to go. However, the regular pricing, which is Rs. 1.83 lakhs, that kicks in after the offer price phases out is higher than the starting price of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 as evident from the price chart.
Verdict
Inevitably, the comparison between these two models was expected. Yet, the Karizma XMR emerges as not only more laden with features, but also more budget-friendly compared to the Gixxer SF 250. Nevertheless, as the initial pricing advantage fades away, the Yamaha R15 will hold the distinction of being slightly more economical, with a marginal difference of approximately 2,000 rupees in ex-showroom cost.
