- Honda may launch its Creta & Grand Vitara rival in India in mid-2023
- Expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10-15 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Will be based on the updated Honda Amaze's platform
A new mid-size SUV is purportedly being prepared by Honda India for release in the mid of 2023. According to reports, Honda's next SUV in India would compete with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, and other mid-size SUVs. The upcoming SUV will be based on the updated platform of Amaze. The WR-V will be phased out of the Honda vehicle lineup in India in 2023, thus the new SUV will fill the void. We speculate the upcoming SUV to be the Honda HR-V.

Upcoming Honda Mid-Size SUV
Although the brand has not made any statements regarding the new SUV, we predict that it would be larger than 4 metres and a fierce competitor for other mid-size SUVs in India. The Honda HR-V may be the next SUV, but for the time being, this is only conjecture. In terms of appearance, the future SUV is likely to use the same design language as the current generation of Honda WR-V and CR-V SUVs sold worldwide. It is anticipated that it will be between 4 and 4.5 metres in size.
On the feature front, the SUV is anticipated to sport a sizable 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster will be added. The Honda Sensing ADAS suite may possibly be incorporated into the SUV by Honda for increased safety.
Upcoming Honda SUV Engine Specifications
The upcoming Honda SUV is expected to gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. But we can also anticipate the brand releasing the hybrid model. The power and other specifications of the engine can't yet be predicted, but a 6-speed manual and a CVT transmission are anticipated to handle the transmission work. An eCVT transmission will be offered for the hybrid version.
