In a recent report from the internet, Honda Cars India has rejigged its entire portfolio after the launch of the much-awaited City Hybrid e:HEV. Currently, they have Amaze, Jazz, WR-V, fourth-gen City, fifth-gen City and City Hybrid in their portfolio. All cars except for the City e:HEV receives some changes. Honda has now discontinued the use of variant badges in all its cars. Honda currently has S, V, VX and ZX as variants in most of its cars and except for the City Hybrid, these badging will be removed from other models. The City e:HEV is only available with the top of the line ZX variant.
Sharing details on the fifth-gen City then both VX and ZX variants will lose out on the 16-inch alloy spare wheel for a smaller, 15-inch steel wheel. Similarly, even the basic necessity like front and rear mudguards will be removed from all the variants. Also, the interior chrome handles that looked premium will now be replaced with black ones. Rest, everything will remain the same.

Coming to the fourth-gen City then the base SV variant will now get an upgraded AVN (audio-visual and navigation) touchscreen infotainment system. This City only gets a 1.5L, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor under the hood. A 5-speed manual transmission is observed as standard fitment on this one.
Honda Cars India is deleting the existing pieces of equipment offered on their cars.
