Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Spied With Major Cosmetic Overhaul
Based on the Creta platform, the Hyundai Alcazar is currently undergoing testing for its facelift. Recent spy shots provide a sneak peek at its front end, albeit camouflaged. Visible features include H-shaped LED DRLs, bumper-mounted LED headlamps, and a larger grille with horizontal chrome slats. There is speculation whether Hyundai will incorporate a connecting light bar at the front, a popular trend in contemporary car design. As such, it's likely the Alcazar facelift will debut with this sought-after feature. One thing that comes out of it is that this will not be a copy-paste sibling of the Hyundai Creta, but will bring its own set of unique styling elements.
The side profile retains the familiar silhouette but with newly cut 18-inch alloys. These new alloys will be offered in a single dark shade for mid-trims whereas the top-spec model could come with a diamond-cut dual-shade design. Apart from this, you won't be getting any major upgrades in this section. Although the latest spy shots do not provide a clear view of the SUV's rear, it is anticipated that the Alcazar facelift will feature LED tail lamps with a connecting light bar, similar to the design update seen on the Creta facelift.
The current Alcazar SUV already boasts a comprehensive set of features, but the upcoming facelift promises to enhance its offerings even further. Expect additions such as dual-zone climate control, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster of the same size, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and an electrically adjustable driver's seat. In terms of safety, the Alcazar facelift is set to introduce Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360-degree camera, all-wheel disc brakes, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill-hold assist, and an electric parking brake with auto hold, among other advanced features.

Powertrain
The upcoming Alcazar facelift will retain its current engine lineup, featuring a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine generating 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of peak torque. It will be available with a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Additionally, the facelift will offer a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 116 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
While the Hyundai Alcazar facelift is expected to arrive by late 2024, it will lock horns with the likes of the MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700, Kia Carens, and more.
Verdict
The updated Hyundai Alcazar facelift will renew the appeal of this family mover, with taking cues from the updated Creta. However, the Kia Carens is gearing up for its facelift as well and these two will fight for the top spot in the segment along with other rivals.
