SUVs are gradually becoming very popular in India. We now have SUVs in all forms & sizes, from sub-4-metre compact ones to mid-size SUVs to even full-size ones. Now, with their increasing popularity, car manufacturers are planning to launch very affordable micro SUVs too. Tata Motors is already gearing up to launch the Tata HBX in India and now, Hyundai is also planning to finally introduce the AX1 micro SUV. To be called Hyundai Casper, it will become a direct rival of the Maruti Ignis as well as the upcoming small car from Tata Motors.

Hyundai Casper Specs
The upcoming Hyundai Casper will share its mechanicals with other small Hyundai cars. In India, this micro SUV is expected to be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated, four-cylinder petrol engine that also does its duty in the Grand i10 Nios, Aura and Venue. As per the latest media reports, the company might also plonk in Hyundai Santro's 1.1-litre three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine to keep the costs in check and the higher-spec variants might get Venue's 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill too.
