The 2020 Hyundai Creta has been one of the most important launches of 2020. It comes loaded to the brim with a long list of standard features and some of these are useful as well. These include the drive and traction modes that drivers can use on a daily basis as per their driving style. We will keep our focus on the former for this article. Do these actually work and more importantly, do they change the way the car accelerates? To test the Hyundai Creta 2020 Drive Modes, we decided to do the 0-100 km/h runs using all three modes of Comfort / Eco / Sport and capture the same on our camera. Hit the play button right away!
0-60 and 0-100 km/h timings
Eco: 4.77 / 10.29 sec
Comfort: 4.68 / 9.95 sec
Sport: 4.52 / 9.78 sec
As seen in the video above, there is a marginal difference when you go flat out for the run in all the three Hyundai Creta 2020 drive modes. Some may pinpoint the timing isn't too different but to be frank, even half a second difference between the Eco and Sport mode is a lot. And to be fair, these modes change the way the car feels during daily drives when you aren't going flat out. Its fair to assume that the calibration is done to allow full power and torque, no matter which drive mode you are in, when you go flat out.
For all the runs in the three drive modes, we had the air-con switched off and did not use the paddle shifters or the manual mode by flicking the gear lever to the right. The Hyundai Creta 2020 drive modes can be selected via the rotary knob that is placed on the right side of the gear level. This same knob also allows you to switch between various traction modes of Snow / Sand / Mud. We haven't been able to test these as the state borders are still sealed. However, going forward, this is definitely on our radar. There are more videos around the new Creta on our Youtube channel - have a look!
