Hyundai Creta EV Spied: What's Different Than The ICE Version?
Peeking from under the camo, the first glimpse makes it obvious that it is the facelifted Hyundai Creta. Observing it more intricately gives away its electric nature. Firstly, it gets the same design as the ICE variant of Creta with the connected LED DRLs and the silhouette being the exact same. The side profile is carried over with the alloy wheels being an exception. They get an EV-focused design for reducing air drag to ultimately aid in extended range.
Coming to the elements where it sets foot in a different arena is the shut-off grill at the front and tweaked bumper, a typical characteristic of electric cars. At the rear, it will follow the same connected tail lamps with EV badging and blacked-out grills. The charging socket is positioned at the front fender and the rest is kept just as it is.
In terms of features, the Creta EV will replicate the tech-laden cabin on the ICE variants, if not more. It is expected to come with ADAS, Dual-Zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, 360-degree camera, digital instrument cluster, front-row ventilated seats, voice-activated panoramic sunroof, and more from the extensive list of features. The instrument console will get more information about the essential battery and range statistics.
Hyundai Creta EV: Battery, Range, And More
While specs and other technical details are still not available in extensive depth, the Hyundai Creta EV is expected to offer an extended claimed range of up to 500 km. However, it has been revealed in the past that it will come with a 45 kWh battery pack expected to offer a real-world range of about 250-300 km. We expect this to be the entry-level version and a long-range variant with a 60 kWh battery to be offered alongside as well with a 500 km range.

Expected Launch And Rivals
As the exact timeline of the launch is not yet clear, expect it to arrive sometime towards the end of 2024. Upon its arrival, it will lock horns with the likes of Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400 EV, and others in the segment.
Verdict
Everyone knew that an electric Creta is on the way and the spy shots in Korea hint at its continued testing before its official debut. In terms of design, features and dimesnions, it carry forwards the charm and legacy of the exisiting ICE model. However, if it could offer longer range variant along with a justified price tag, it is sure to substantially dent the sales of rival EVs upon its launch.
