Hyundai Creta Facelift Launch Delayed: New Timeline
The launch timeline of the Hyundai Creta Facelift has now been shifted to 2024 and we have to wait for a good 1 year before the new model debuts in the Indian market. The facelift was introduced globally in 2022 and it carried the brand's 'Sensuous Sportiness' design philosophy with a parametric front grille, inspired by the latest gen Tucson.
Hyundai Creta Facelift Launch Delayed: Why?
There could be a number of reasons for the extended launch timeline. Hyundai could have decided to fully utilize the sales potential of the current model as it is doing exceptionally well in terms of sales figures and commands a waiting period of more than 6 months. Moreover, the current model is at par with the rivals in terms of features, powertrain etc. and its design still appeals to the masses.
Apart from this, some media reports also suggest that Hyundai will bring an altogether new facelift model, specifically for the Indian market. This means that the Parametric front fascia will be skipped for a more indigenous design.
Hyundai Creta Facelift Launch Delayed: What the India-Specific Facelift Model Get?
Being a facelift, it will sport a host of cosmetic tweaks inside out. A new front fascia accompanied by a new set of LED headlamps, redesigned bumpers and a revised front grille. Towards the sides, the affair will remain more or less the same, however, a new set of alloy wheels is a must. The rear profile will get redesigned boot door, new LED tail lamps and a new prominent diffuser could also be a part of the package. Inside the cabin, the overall layout could receive minor updates, most likely in the air-con vent design as well as the centre console. A new colour theme along with revised upholstery will likely be a part of the update along with new features such as ADAS, a fully digital instrument cluster, an updated infotainment system and more.
Under the hood, the powertrain options will remain the same as the current model, however, the current 1.4 tGDi engine will soon be replaced by a new 1.5 tGDi unit, in order to comply with the new BS6 phase 2 norms. This new engine is what we will see in the facelifted model, along with the existing powertrain combinations.

Verdict: Delaying the Creta Facelift in the Indian market will have no significant effect on the sales numbers as the current model is enjoying its popularity among car buyers and selling like a hot cake. An India-specific facelift model seems quite interesting but we have to wait for a year before it is out in full flesh. But before that, Hyundai could surprise us with the launch of the Creta N-Line, which will be based on the current-gen model.
