Hyundai is planning to launch the facelift versions of the Grand i10 Nios and the Venue soon. While the third-generation update for the Nios is expected to take some time and arrive around the second half of 2027, the facelift for the Venue is set to be released much earlier, likely by the end of 2025.

In August, Hyundai acquired a new factory in Talegaon, Maharashtra. The company plans to start operations at this plant in 2025. It is anticipated that the upcoming Venue facelift will be produced at this new facility. It's possible that the first SUV to roll out from this new plant could be the facelifted Venue.

Hyundai Venue is expected to keep the same engine options, but we can look forward to updates in its design. The front and rear will get a fresh look, and it will come with a better set of features. Notably, it is expected to include Level 2 ADAS and other features borrowed from the Creta. For the Grand i10 Nios, we might see similar updates mainly focused on the exterior, with some possible feature upgrades. The engine options are likely to stay the same.

In terms of Year-on-Year (YoY) growth in May 2024, Hyundai saw declines in many of its models, including the i20, Aura, Alcazar, Tucson, and the Grand i10 Nios, which had a 17% drop in sales. However, Creta and Venue performed well, especially Creta, which has been a major contributor to Hyundai's domestic H1 sales with 91,348 units sold, showing an 11% increase compared to the same period last year.

Despite the declining performance of the Grand i10 Nios, it is expected that the upcoming upgrades might boost its sales. However, until then, its sales numbers are likely to continue dropping over the next 2-3 years. On the other hand, the Venue's current sales are doing well, and the facelift is expected to further boost its performance in the future.

Verdict

Car manufacturers strive to keep their models relevant and sometimes introduce updates to challenge competitors' sales. These aspects play crucial roles in the market. There's much to anticipate from these facelifts if carmakers continue to ensure their models remain current and appealing.
