2025 Renault Duster Officially Revealed: Exudes Dominance
The 2024 Renault Duster showcases a significant design evolution, maintaining iconic elements from its predecessors and drawing inspiration from the Bigster Concept. As a trailblazer in the compact SUV segment, the Duster is celebrated for its robust suspension and all-wheel-drive capabilities, earning a special place among SUV enthusiasts in India. The front fascia is characterized by Y-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps connecting with chrome elements on the slim grille, creating a distinctive look. Vertical air vents, circular fog light units, and a flattened bull-bar-like lower grille contribute to its SUV appeal, while squared-off wheel arches, roof rails, and a spoiler maintain its rugged design. The tapering rear quarter glass pays homage to its predecessor.

Interior: Fresh Feel, Upgraded Tech
Coming to the inside, the cabin space looks nicely cocooned with a 3-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel at the forefront. It gets a fully digital instrument cluster and a big-sized infotainment screen. The aircon vents are now octagonal in geometry with Y-shaped clusters on top. Complemented by the dark all-black theme, the cabin feels premium and offers good practicality. On the features front, it gets the tech at par with its competition with additions like wireless charging, automatic climate control, and more.
Engine Options: Diverse Selection
The upcoming Duster is expected to feature three global engine options. These include an entry-level 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, a 140hp, 1.2-litre petrol hybrid, and a robust 170hp, 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that is flex-fuel compliant in higher trims. The 170hp variant is anticipated to be the most powerful version of the Duster in production.
For the Indian market, Renault is contemplating the introduction of strong hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of the new Duster. This strategic move is designed to offer the SUV comparable efficiency to a diesel engine, especially since the diesel powertrain will not be available.
In India, the new Duster is scheduled to arrive by 2025, competing directly with midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara in this rapidly growing segment. While it will face some long-standing giants of the segment, its iconic legacy will contribute to its quick adoption in the Indian market.
